His eyes narrowed as he took in the scene: a young woman, lifeless and pale, lay in the centre of the grand hall. The expression on her face was one of sheer terror.

Viren’s assistant, Priya, a brilliant forensic analyst with a keen eye for detail, joined him. Her face was a mix of determination and curiosity. "This isn't just a murder, Viren," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "There's something more here."

As Viren examined the scene, he felt a chill run down his spine. The victim, Neha Sharma, was a local journalist known for her investigative reports on corruption and crime. Her latest piece was on the mysterious disappearances linked to the old haveli. The more Viren looked, the more he realized this was no ordinary case.

The first twist came as Priya discovered a cryptic symbol etched into the floorboards beneath Neha's body. It was an ancient mark, one that Viren recognized from a previous case involving a dangerous cult. His heart raced as he realized they were dealing with something far darker than he had anticipated.

The room's air grew colder, and the mirror began to glow. Suddenly, the room transformed, and they found themselves in the past, witnessing the final moments of the Kapoor family. The patriarch, Rajesh Kapoor, was performing a ritual, attempting to bind the family's souls to the haveli for immortality. But something went horribly wrong, and their souls were trapped, haunting the mansion for eternity.

As they entered the haveli, the atmosphere was even more oppressive than before. The spirits were angry, and the mansion seemed alive with their fury. They split up, searching for the hidden belongings.
Priya found a chest filled with old jewellery and personal items. Just as she was about to destroy them, a spirit materialized, attacking her. Viren heard her screams and rushed to her aid, fighting off the spirit with a makeshift torch.

Together, they managed to burn the belongings, and the spirits let out a final, agonized scream before vanishing. The haveli grew silent, and the oppressive airlifted. They had truly broken the curse this time.

Exhausted, they left the mansion as the first light of dawn broke. Priya looked at Viren, her eyes filled with gratitude and relief. "It's over," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
But Viren couldn't shake the feeling of unease. As they walked away, he glanced back at the haveli one last time. In the window, he saw the shadowy figure of Neha, her eyes filled with sorrow and rage. The curse was broken, but the spirits of the haveli would never truly rest.

Viren knew that their story was far from over. The haveli held too many secrets, and the spirits were too powerful to simply disappear. As they walked into the sunrise, he couldn't help but feel that this was just the beginning of a much darker tale.
